How do I upload the details of my properties onto wantspacegotspace.co.uk?

  • Click on the blue “Log-in” button at the top of the landing (aka “Want Space”) page.
  • You will then be directed to the “Log-in” page.
  • Enter the relevant “Email Address” and “Password” in the text boxes provided.
  • Click on the blue “Log me in” button.
  • You will then be directed to the “Manage Your Commercial Property” page in your “Space Manager”.
  • Click on “+ Add building”.
  • Select the type of building that you wish to add from the on-screen list.
  • The relevant building pro-forma will then be displayed.
  • Select an existing “Contact/Agent” from the drop-down list or, to add a new “Contact/Agent”, select “Add new contact” from the drop-down list and enter the relevant contact details in the additional set of text boxes that will then be displayed below the original “Contact/Agent” box.
  • If there is more than one "Contact/Agent", repeat the above process in respect of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th "Contact(s)/Agent(s)", as appropriate.
  • To add a new building, select “Add new address” from the drop-down list.
  • Enter the address of the building in the additional set of text boxes that will then be displayed below the original “Description” box.  (Note. Only make use of the “District/Area” box if the postal address includes specific reference to a named suburb, e.g. “Shirley, Solihull”.  Otherwise, this could have a seriously negative impact on the website’s SEO.  Also, if it transpires that the postcode is incorrect, refer to the Royal Mail’s postcode finder at www.postcode.royalmail.com).
  • Select a “Billing/Card Contact” from the drop-down list.  (Note. This will normally be the “Main contact”).
  • To add a new “Billing/Card Contact”, follow the same procedure as you would for adding a new “Contact” – see above.
  • Select a “Billing/Card Address” from the drop-down list.  (Note. this will normally be the “Main address”).
  • To add a new “Billing/Card Address”, follow the same procedure as you would for adding a new (building) “Address” – see above.
  • Enter the relevant URL in the “Website” box if you wish to create a web link.  Otherwise, leave the “Website” box blank.
  • Enter a description of the building in the “Description” text box.  (Note. If you or your agent have already produced a set of property particulars in an electronic format (e.g. PDF, Excel spreadsheet, etc), the “cut and paste” facility can potentially be used to upload the relevant information direct from their details onto the building pro-forma).
  • Click on the radio button marked “Available”.
  • Tick the “Display” box if the building has already been paid for or if the building is intended to fill one of the slots that have been pre-allocated to a “Freeloader” account.  Otherwise, leave the “Display” box unticked, pending receipt of your payment by wantspacegotspace Limited (at which point the box can then be ticked and the building will immediately “go live” on the website).
  • Enter the “Freehold price”, “Rent PAX”, “Rent per Sq ft” or “Rent per Sq m” (as the case may be) in the “Terms” box.  Alternatively, if no specific asking price or asking rent is being quoted, leave the “Terms” box blank and, instead, tick the “Offers invited” box.
  • If known, enter the “Rates payable PA”, “Rateable value”, “Electricity PA”, “Gas PA”, “Water PA” and “Service charge PA” amounts (net of VAT) in the relevant boxes.  Otherwise, leave the boxes blank and they will be marked “TBA” on the printable particulars.
  • Choose whether you want to enter the “Dimensions/Areas” in metric or imperial units by clicking on the relevant radio button.  (Note. The “Dimensions” and “Areas” will be displayed on the printable particulars in both metric and imperial units, regardless of which option is selected).
  • Complete the “Dimensions/Areas” section to the best of your ability.  (Note. If you do not have access to the information needed in order to complete one of the “required fields” (which are those identified by a red asterisk), enter a zero in the relevant box).
  • Complete the “Specification” section to the best of your ability.  (Note. If you do not have access to the information needed in order to complete one of the “required fields” (which are those identified by a red asterisk), click on, tick or select (as the case may be) the corresponding “No”, “None”, “Not applicable” or “Other” radio button, tick box or drop-down option (as the case may be).  If in doubt, always err on the side of caution and don’t make assumptions, no matter how obvious they may appear to be!!).
  • If displayed on the building pro-forma, select the “Planning Use” from the drop-down list.  (Note. If there is more than one permitted use, go back and enter the relevant details in the “Description” text box, e.g. The permitted use encompasses Classes A1 (Retail) and A3 (Restaurant or Cafe).
  • Once you have completed the building pro-forma, click on the blue “Add” button at the bottom of the page.
  • You will then automatically be re-directed back to the “Manage Your Building” page in your “Space Manager”.
  • Scroll down to “Tasks” and click on “Preview this building”.
  • The printable particulars will then be displayed.  Check the text and other details to ensure that they do not contain any obvious errors, anomalies, spelling mistakes, etc.
  • Click on the word “Back” (which appears in the top left and bottom left hand corners of the page).
  • You will then be re-directed back to the “Manage Your Building” page in your “Space Manager”.
  • If you do need to make any changes to the printable particulars, scroll down to “Tasks” and click on “Edit the details for this building”.
  • The completed building pro-forma will then be displayed.
  • Edit the details, as necessary, and then click on the blue “Change” button at the bottom of the page.  The changes that you have made will then be saved and automatically incorporated into the printable particulars.
  • In the meantime, you will be re-directed back to the “Manage Your Building” page in your “Space Manager”.
  • To add another building, click on “Space Manager” in the box headed “Got Space Control Panel”.
  • You will then be directed to the “Manage Your Commercial Property” page in your “Space Manager”.  Then simply repeat the above process.
