2013 brings good health for Couch Consulting Engineers

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - 2013 brings good health for Couch Consulting EngineersCouch Consulting Engineers are delighted to announce their appointment on a number of health centre projects.

The Birmingham based, structural and civil engineers have been selected to work with Matrix Medical on health centre projects in Chirk, Gloucestershire, Cleobury and Ashby.

Construction work is about to start on the major new health facility in Chirk.

The new primary care centre, located off Colliery Road to the rear of the High Street, will replace Chirk Surgery’s existing premises on Castle Road and the existing Health Centre on Station Avenue.  The land has been made available by Wrexham County Borough Council and the building is being constructed by Anwyl Construction.  The building is to be named The Castle Health Centre and completion is scheduled for Spring 2014.

The development has been a top priority for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) for a number of years due to the size and condition of the existing buildings and the project received Welsh Government funding approval in Summer 2012.

Medical centre specialist, Matrix Medical, is the developer and investor behind the project. Managing Director, Alistair Blacklaws, said, "We are pleased that work can now start on site having been the result of close working with the GPs, Health Board and Wrexham County Borough Council. We are delighted for the practice and their patients who can now look forward to a new era in state-of-the-art premises.”

Totalling 2,000 sq m in area, the two-storey building will include rooms for GP consulting, GP training, treatments, counselling, phlebotomy and minor operations in addition to rooms for the Midwives, Health Visitors and outpatient appointments. It will also include a large pharmacy as well as space for ancillary healthcare uses.

Tony Rundle, Managing Director commented, “We are pleased to be working with Matrix Medical on this long awaited project.  Now that construction is underway we look forward to bringing this wonderful new facility to life, providing the local residents with a much needed new facility.”
The health centre at Chirk along with the three other health centres, is due to complete in 2014.
