Colliers International Makes Significant Senior Appointment In National Offices Team In Manchester

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Colliers International Makes Significant Senior Appointment In National Offices Team In ManchesterMichael Hawkins is to join Colliers International in January 2014 as a Partner in its National Offices team, based in Manchester. He joins from WHR Property Consultants, where he was a Partner advising property and development companies, funds and often investors; as well as acting on some of the city’s leading schemes including the Noma Scheme and The Landmark.

Tony Horrell, CEO, UK & Ireland, Colliers International said: “This strategic hire is instrumental in the continuing growth plans for our National Offices team in the UK, and in particular, in Manchester. Mike has dominated the Manchester city centre office leasing, development and investment market during the last 10 years with an unenviable client list and unprecedented market share; and we have every confidence that he will help us to build our business in Manchester very quickly.”

“Our top three global ranking and international client base were the deciding factors for Mike joining us.  We have significant strategic growth plans in the UK and we are glad that Mike has decided to become part of those plans.  He will be our seventeenth new hire at senior level this year.”

Mark Taylor, Head of National Offices at Colliers International added:  “Mike’s main role will be to build our offices business in Manchester, a market that is increasingly seeing interest from international investors, has some of the country’s most exciting office schemes and is increasingly rivalling other UK cities as a major draw to occupiers.

Mike will build on his experience advising funds like CBRE GI, AXA and Hermes; development companies including Hines, Moorfield Group; as well as regional and national heavyweights, Bruntwood, Langtree, Property Alliance Group.”

From 1994 to 2004 Mike rose through the ranks at Lambert Smith Hampton in Manchester. In June, 2004, alongside five fellow directors he set up WHR Property Consultants and has been a major force in the Manchester office market ever since.
