Diocese moves into town

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - office space in birmingham - Diocese moves into townThe Diocese of Birmingham is relocating its headquarter office into the heart of Birmingham’s commercial core, with a move to One Colmore Row. The Diocese of Birmingham is the network of Church of England churches and chaplaincies serving Birmingham and surrounding towns, suburbs and villages.  The organisation is taking 8,300 sq ft, over two floors at the building adjacent to Snow Hill Station.

Alongside office accommodation for the organisation’s 40 members of staff, the new space will accommodate an extensive library and resource centre. It is vacating premises in Harborne, which have been let to Metro Project Management, in a second deal by Knight Frank.

Jamie Philips from Knight Frank acted for The Diocese, with Ben Thacker of GBR Phoenix Beard representing the landlord Ballymore.

Ben Thacker of GBR Phoenix Beard commented:

“One Colmore Row forms the gateway to Snowhill and has benefited enormously from Ballymore’s vision and investment in the vicinity.  This is yet another recent letting during 2012 in a key area of the city which will also see the completion of Two Snowhill in February.  With only two vacant floors remaining at One Colmore Row, and the ongoing draw of the new development taking place, we expect a continued increase in office occupier interest at this iconic office location.”

Jamie Philips, office agent at Knight Frank, said:

“The Diocese’s decision to move to One Colmore Row is significant and this new central location will enhance the organisation’s accessibility to key stakeholders across the West Midlands.”

Other tenants at One Colmore Row include Knight Frank, Brit Insurance Group and the Punter Southall Group, with Waitrose occupying the ground floor retail space.
