DTZ Investment Management secures another 180,000 sq ft at Holford

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - DTZ Investment Management secures another 180,000 sq ft at HolfordBirmingham: DTZ Investment Management has secured another long term letting at their recently acquired Holford Industrial Park in north Birmingham. Existing tenant the global skin care company, Beiersdorf , has renewed the lease on their existing warehouse of over 100,000 sq ft.

The fund has also extended the building by a further 80,000 sq ft bringing their total occupation on the Park to over 180,000 sq ft. The £3.5m development project will safeguard 50 existing jobs and create an additional 50 jobs on completion.  The development is being coordinated on a tight timescale by Birmingham based Graftongate Developments and is planned for completion in June this year.

DTZ and Graftongate worked closely with the planning department at Birmingham City Council to secure planning consent within eight weeks. Through their undertaking detailed design and tendering in parallel, construction could start immediately on receipt of planning permission. The procurement of the building extension will allow Beiersdorf a seamless expansion with zero disruption to their existing business operations.

The latest deal follows on from the disposal of over 100,000 sq ft last year and an additional further recent leasing of 16,000 sq ft. The Fund has now secured occupation of over 300,000 sq ft since purchasing the Holford site under 12 months ago.

Simon Lloyd, Senior Director at DTZ who represented the Fund comments: “The high quality of the original development at Holford together with the excellent on site security makes it an attractive location for occupiers, endorsed by Beiersdorf expanding their operations at the Park. This development is taking place on the last remaining site at Holford.”

Harris Lamb of Birmingham were joint letting agents on Holford with DTZ, while the tenant was represented by GVA.
