East Midlands’ Premier Employment site "Teal Park" Nears Completion

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Taylor Lindsey, Siemens - East Midlands’ Premier Employment site "Teal Park" Nears CompletionWork to complete the servicing of the largest employment park in the East Midlands should be completed early next year while the first occupier, Siemens, is now starting the fit-out of its new, relocated servicing facility.

Teal Park, an 87-acre development near Lincoln owned by Lincoln-based developers Taylor Lindsey Ltd, who are working with Lincolnshire County Council, will be a fully serviced commercial development with direct access to the new A46 dual carriageway link to the M1.

The development aims to improve the growth and relocation options for businesses by offering a high-quality environment in an area which has not seen much direct investment over recent years.

The estate roads are now finished and Siemens, which manufactures gas turbines in Lincoln, is moving the servicing element of its operation into its new 155,000 sq ft facility.

“The Siemens building has been handed over and is now being fitted out while we are completing the dualling of the A46 Lincoln bypass and improvements to Whisby Road,” said Paul Wheatley, Head of Regeneration at Lincolnshire County Council.

“We are receiving a number of interesting enquiries from both large and small firms which shows there is confidence in the site.

“The range of enquiries also demonstrates that Teal Park is attractive both to large companies like Siemens and to small businesses which are looking to grow.”

Sam Elkington, Senior Partner of Hodgson Elkington LLP, the sole agents for the development, commented: “Lincoln now has a significant new development site with excellent connections which will enable either existing city-based or new businesses to relocate or expand onto.

“It has been good to work with Lincolnshire County Council in bringing this project forward over the past five years and to actually now provide a quality offering for the city and the East Midlands of both leasehold and freehold new build business premises.

“We will have over 87 acres of employment land fully serviced and ready to go in Lincoln, and the city has not had that for a number of years.

“We are starting to hear encouraging noises about the economy and we have to be in the right position and ready to take advantage when the time comes.  Teal Park will ensure that this opportunity exists in Lincoln.”

Teal Park is suitable for up to 1.2 million sq ft of B1, B2 and B8 commercial uses supported by ancillary space for trade counters, a hotel and a public house and will be capable of supporting up to 4,000 jobs.
