East Midlands architects scoop place in national top 50 employer list

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - East Midlands architects scoop place in national top 50 employer listArchitects maber have beaten off competition from around the country to be included in the prestigious Building Good Employer Guide 2012. The list, now in its sixth year, highlights firms within the building and construction sector that have had first rate reviews from their staff, as well as those recognised by Building magazine itself.

Maber, which has offices in Nottingham, Leicester, London and Derby, achieved a rating of higher than four out of five in all seven judging criteria, including leadership, atmosphere and career progression.
Over the past 2 years maber have experienced considerable growth, demonstrated by their investment in their future team. In 2012 maber launched MAP, the maber Academy Programme, for the next generation of employees. Designed to take them from work experience to post-graduate positions, the programme is structured so that it provides continuous learning and development, whether individuals are in an administrative support role or working towards professional qualifications.

Mark Hobson, Managing Director of maber, said: “We benefit as a business from developing employees through our successful graduate programme, and it’s one reason we have very low staff turnover. We support the ongoing learning of our employees with structured, aspirational and needs-based CPD.”

Sarah Richardson, Editor of The Building Good Employer Guide 2012, said: “The best performing companies are almost always those that can enthuse and incentivise to go the extra mile – and at no point is this more crucial than in a tough economic climate.”

Maber has worked on a string of city centre developments across the East Midlands, including the 22-storey Summit in Leicester, and the Mercedes Showroom in Derby.
