Halls Bavarian night in Worcester, raises £2,500 for local sight loss charity.

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Halls Bavarian night in Worcester, raises £2,500 for local sight loss charity.Worcester property consultants and chartered surveyors Halls hosted a foot-stomping, beer-swilling  Bavarian night to raise £2,500 for a local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people.

Around 200 people attended the fun-filled event at Worcester’s Guildhall to raise money for Sight Concern Worcestershire. Guests enjoyed a hog roast and a live performance from authentic Oompah band The Bierkeller Schunklers.
Jason Clines, managing partner at Halls Commercial, said: “We were overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone at the event, which was a sell out. It was a fantastic, fun evening that raised a significant amount of money for a very worthwhile countywide charity.

“There was plenty of audience participation and we were pleased that a number of people came dressed in lederhosen and really threw themselves into the theme of the evening. So many people have already asked us to make it an annual event, and we have decided we will.”

Fiona Blake, fundraising manager at Sight Concern, said: “Thank you to Halls and the Worcestershire business community for their wonderful fundraising support.
“Many people feel their life is over when they lose their sight; we help people to cope and learn how to do things differently. There are more than 10,000 people affected by significant sight loss in Worcestershire, so we need lots of help to reach out to our friends, family or neighbours experiencing the fear of sight loss.”

Covering the whole of Worcestershire, Sight Concern provides support and advice to more than 2,500 people each year who are blind or partially sighted.  The charity works hard to help people find their confidence again. It runs cookery courses teaching techniques for preparing meals from scratch, such as using talking scales and ways of cutting fruit and vegetables with sharp knives. It also has around 120 volunteers who help people to remain independent in their own homes – through regular visits to read the post or escorting them on a shopping trip. Halls provides advice and a wide range of services across all sectors of the property market throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and wider Midlands region. Visit www.hallsgb.com for more information.
