Haulier drives a cost-effective move

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Haulier drives a cost-effective moveLincoln based Chartered Surveyor Banks Long & Co has helped a busy haulage firm to take the expansion route and keep a cap on rising fuel costs.

Banks Long & Co has leased a 2.35 acre site in Exchange Road, which includes a large yard and storage facilities, to Cartwright Bros (Haulage) Ltd, giving the company extra space within easy reach of its headquarters in Freeman Road, North Hykeham.

Cartwright Bros Director Jamie Cartwright said: “We currently employ 110 people and we run a fleet of 55 vehicles.  Business is good at the moment but it is also very challenging in the current climate.

“We are very confident that the future looks better for firms generally, not just ours, but we are sure everyone is constantly having to find new ways of reducing costs and increasing their profits.”

Cartwright Bros has taken the lease on the Exchange Road premises, after closing its  site at Harmston, making the most of a superb opportunity to acquire a larger, flexible facility  conveniently close to the Lincoln Bypass.

“This change of premises is just one way of saving costs within our business. We have had to lease the Exchange Road centre because properties of this
nature and proximity to our head office are not available to buy,” said Mr Cartwright.

“This move will drastically cut down on the mileage costs associated with driving to and from our former Harmston site and hopefully have a positive impact on our fuel bill.”

Banks Long & Co Director William Wall added: “The fact that we were able to secure such a swift disposal is reflective of the improving market conditions.

“There is definitely a more positive outlook within the local business community and we are pleased to have assisted with the continued growth of such a long-established company.”
