Smart Platform Rental Limited, who will occupy 10,000 sq ft in two units on a ten year lease, wanted to expand from their former Kingsbury site and capitalise on the recognised second city demand for cost effective work at height solutions. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Smart Platform Rental Ltd is the pioneering force behind self-drive truck mount powered access hire in the UK.

The company was not only keen to develop it’s vehicle mount rental business but also to greatly expand its training arm, Smart Training Academy, which occupies its own dedicated unit. The Academy will offer a wide range of work at height training including IPAF scissor lift and cherry picker courses and also PASMA scaffold tower training.

Guy Willett, Commercial Director at Smart Platform Rental added: “Our new Minworth offices replicates many of the same features as our Hemel Hampstead and Trafford Park sites; a welcoming venue to hire from or train in that’s strategically located within a vibrant trade park with convenient access to the motorway network.”

Similarly, Ottobock, have taken a 5 year lease on 6,730 sq ft in two units. They are a world leading supplier of high quality, innovative and practical solutions that restore human mobility and help people to rediscover personal independence.

Colin Pendlebury, Production Development Manager of Otto Bock stated: “We were looking for high quality accommodation in a prestigious location and Minworth Trade Park certainly provides both of these. This base will provide us a mixture of manufacturing and consultancy services.”

Alex Luker of CBRE Global Investors said: “This is great news for the Trade Park as a whole which is now over 70% let. Our agents Harris Lamb, Colliers International and Bartlett Property are continuing to receive good interest in the remaining units where we can satisfy requirements from 3,929 sq ft up to 45,000 sq ft on a site suitable for design and build.”
