NARA appoints new Chairman Daniel Hardy and Vice-Chair Maria Connolly

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - NARA appoints new Chairman Daniel Hardy and Vice-Chair Maria ConnollyNARA, the Association of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers, has appointed Daniel Hardy as its fifteenth Chairman and Maria Connolly as Vice-Chair.

Daniel, who was previously Vice-Chairman, succeeded Julian Healey with effect from the September AGM.

Daniel has been a Fellow of NARA since 1999, and a member of Council from 2009.  He is a partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s Leeds office, heading the firm’s Corporate Recovery Department. His department operates alongside Sanderson Weatherall’s Property Asset Advisory & Recovery and also Machinery & Business Assets Departments which have traditionally acted for insolvency practitioners as well as parties with charges over property.

Daniel has been with the firm since 1989 and has almost 25 years’ experience in dealing virtually exclusively with property recovery situations. He has dealt with numerous receivership appointments throughout the whole of England & Wales and has been taking Appointments in his own name for the past fifteen years. He deals in a broad range of properties which includes commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural and also trading concerns. He has also represented major banks in the High Court and as Receiver was successful in a case of Hardy v Fowle which related to an action for possession.

Commenting on his appointment, Daniel said: “I am delighted to be taking over the Chair of the NARA Council at this busy time for property receivers. We have a very active year planned and I look forward to meeting as many NARA members as possible during my time as chairman”.

NARA’s new Vice Chair is Maria Connolly, who is a solicitor and a partner in the Real Estate Group at TLT Solicitors in Bristol with significant experience in dealing with the commercial property aspects of insolvency transactions, including fixed charge receiverships and administrations, many involving large portfolios of properties. Maria is responsible for the property aspects of asset disposal and restructuring work at TLT. She is an Associate member of NARA and has also been a Council member since 2009 and is the former Chair of the R3 Women’s Group (South West and Wales).

Daniel takes over from Julian Healey who has served as Chairman for two consecutive terms. Julian has led the Association through some significant changes in its structure and operation which will stand it in very good stead as it continues to grow and develop into the future.”
