New investment confirmed at Riverside Business Park, Bakewell

New investment confirmed at Riverside Business Park, BakewellLitton Property Group has awarded the construction contract to Chesterfield-based Roe Developments to build the phase two “Kingfisher” Building. The new £500,000 building will offer around 1,115 sq m (12,000 sq ft) of high-spec’ industrial/business space at the Riverside Business Park in Bakewell. Architects for the scheme are Bond Bryan; the engineers are Eastwood & Partners and Monaghans are employers agents.

The building will form a terrace capable of sub-division to varying sizes to suit individual business needs and has also been designed to accommodate mezzanine floors, if required. Further works include road improvements and electricity supplies to the rear of the site are also being undertaken as part of the project.

The award-winning Thornbridge Brewery — already a major occupier at Riverside Business Park — is taking additional accommodation for storage to allow expansion within the existing facility, which will further increase employment opportunities within the area. A local personal fitness business, Born2move, is also taking space for their bespoke private training suite. Further interest has also been shown in the building from other local businesses.

Helen Yates, marketing manager at Litton Property Group, commenting on the new building, said: “We are delighted to be able to press forward with this further phase in view of the demand from local businesses. We are also confident that one or two other companies in the area may consider relocating here in view of conversations we have been having.”

Helen Yates also confirmed that following the completion of this building Riverside Business Park will be considering future investment opportunities.
