Quadruple new appointments for DTZ Manchester

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Quadruple new appointments for DTZ ManchesterDTZ, has made four new appointments across a diverse range of teams in its Manchester office. David Legat joins as Associate Director to the Retail Agency team and Ben Pretty joins as Senior Consultant to its Consulting team. The office has made two appointments to its Residential, Land and Student Valuation and Agency team with Steve Smith joining as Senior Surveyor and Oliver Moorhouse as Surveyor.

David Legat joins DTZ’s northern region Retail Agency team from Liverpool based Mason Owen and Partners’. Over the last four years he has dealt with both acquisitions and disposals: acquiring units in line with retail clients’ requirements to meet their expansion objectives. He has also advised on a wide variety of disposals for Landlord clients. His previous clients include Grosvenor, Aegon, Standard Life Investments, Iceland and Neptune Developments. David will be taking the lead in the north west on retail agency and providing support to existing DTZ clients including Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Barclays and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Ben Pretty joins from a Leeds-based regeneration and property consultancy practice and has over seven years’ consultancy experience, having commenced his career at Deloitte. Ben is a member of the RICS Management Consultancy Professional Group and has significant experience of providing strategic advice to public sector clients on a diverse range of real estate challenges to deliver financial efficiencies, corporate objectives and wider economic outcomes.

He is experienced in the project management and delivery of a wide variety of strategic consultancy commissions from initial feasibility studies/options appraisals through to strategy and business case development and project delivery/funding mechanisms. Previous clients include the Homes and Communities Agency, Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships and other public and private sector organisations. At DTZ, Ben will initially be supporting existing consultancy contracts including those with Manchester Metropolitan University, Lancashire County Council and Preston College.

Steve Smith joins to provide advice in respect of residential property, development land and student accommodation working on behalf of a range of public and private sector clients.  Steve is experienced in residential and affordable housing development, valuation, and agency.  

Previously employed at Knight Frank, Drivers Jonas and Wrexham County Borough Council, Steve also specialises in providing advice to developers and Local Planning Authorities regarding residential development Financial Viability Appraisals.  He has significant experience in providing secured lending valuations for residential sites and portfolio valuations for the majority of major funders.

A RICS Registered Valuer, Oliver joins as Chartered Valuation Surveyor from a Manchester-based private practice. Oliver has experience providing valuation advice to predominantly high street banks and building societies as well as pension funds, private individuals, housing associations and development companies. At DTZ, Oliver will be primarily involved with the valuation of residential property, development land and student accommodation working on behalf of a range of both public and private sector clients.
