Sainsbury’s store brings jobs boost to Taylor Wimpey’s Crookham Park development

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Sainsbury’s store brings jobs boost to Taylor Wimpey’s Crookham Park developmentSupermarket chain Sainsbury’s has become the first retailer to commit to opening a store at Taylor Wimpey’s new Crookham Park community in Church Crookham, Hampshire.

A Sainsbury’s Local convenience store is scheduled to open in autumn 2013 at the development, in a move which is expected to create up to 25 jobs for local people.

The store will stock a wide range of Sainsbury’s products, providing customers with a handy opportunity to top up their weekly shop. A 40-space car park will serve the convenience shop, plus any future stores which open at Crookham Park’s local shopping centre.

There is currently a wide range of new homes for sale at the Crookham Park development – at Queensacre by Taylor Wimpey West London and at Hightrees by Taylor Wimpey South West Thames.

Tim Betts, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “We are delighted to announce such a high profile and trusted high-street name as the first retailer to commit to Crookham Park.

“The decision to open a store here is a sure sign that Sainsbury’s shares our view that Crookham Park is shaping up to be an incredibly popular new sustainable community.”

Sarah Pasco, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South West Thames, says: “We are convinced that the arrival of such a big name will make other retailers aware of the fantastic potential Crookham Park offers them, and will also help to attract even more savvy home-buyers to this wonderful new community in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.”

A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s adds: “We are excited at the prospect of our new convenience shop at Crookham Park. The new development will provide a vibrant community which we look forward to being part of.”

The deal to bring Sainsbury’s to Crookham Park was overseen by real estate advisors Vail Williams, acting on behalf of Taylor Wimpey.
