SEGRO celebrates ground-breaking at its new scheme at Advent Way in Enfield, North London

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - SEGRO celebrates ground-breaking at its new scheme at Advent Way in Enfield, North LondonSEGRO, Europe’s leading owner-manager and developer of industrial property, has marked the start of construction at its new scheme at Advent Way in Enfield, North London, also known as View 406 Advent Way, with a ground-breaking ceremony.  The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Enfield, local stakeholders and senior representatives from SEGRO and Whitbread.
The View 406 scheme totals 128,250 sq ft and includes a 96 bedroom, five storey hotel which is being built for Premier Inn. The modern 44,100 sq ft hotel will include a ground floor bar and restaurant, business meeting room facilities, a 96 space customer car park, and a new access road. When completed, the hotel will provide local employment opportunities and is expected to create 32 new full-time jobs, 50% of which will be targeted at local unemployed people.
Alongside Premier Inn, SEGRO is constructing 84,150 sq ft of industrial space on a speculative basis. The development will comprise 15 industrial units which will be suitable for a variety of purposes including urban distribution as well as offering light industrial and storage facilities. The development is due for completion in August 2014.
Alan Holland, SEGRO’s Business Unit Director for Greater London, said: “Advent Way is SEGRO’s first development in North London and we’re delighted to have celebrated our ground-breaking ceremony today.  We’re very pleased to be building a new hotel for Premier Inn which, when it is completed, will offer employment opportunities for the local community.Advent Way is situated in an excellent location and our speculative scheme will offer high quality industrial space to serve businesses in the immediate area, as well as those that require easy and direct access to Central London.”
Owen Ellender, Acquisition Manager for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said: “We are pleased to be working with SEGRO on this new development.  We are looking forward to establishing another quality Premier Inn location in London, which in turn will create new jobs, help revitalise the local area and enhance the facilities on offer to local occupiers at this important London business location.”
