Tough on track as Bristol professionals take Tri-athlon test

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Tough on track as Bristol professionals take Tri-athlon testThe hottest day of the year so far saw hundreds of Bristol Professionals competing in Colliers International’s Tri-athlon challenge at Tockington School.

The inaugural tri-athlon took place on Thursday, testing the determination and physical mettle of 150 competitors from across the business and its clients. With temperatures reaching thirty degrees plus teams from half a dozen Bristol companies tackled a 400m swim, 20km bike ride and a five km run.

Head of Colliers International’s Bristol office Tim Davies – who also completed the punishing course - said it had been a great day despite ferocious temperatures.

He said: “We were expecting the tarmac to melt at any moment but it was a super event superbly contested by all members of our team plus our colleagues from across the city.

“This event was the first of its kind for Colliers International and provided a great excuse for us to do something fun and interactive with our clients and teams around the business, give something back to charity - and for many of us, much needed encouragement to get in better shape! We’re already looking forward to next year.”

Held in aid of Cancer Research, the Tri-athlon  attracted competitors from Colliers International clients including KPMG, NatWest, Prupim, Unite and PPS Group, as well staff across its UK offices.

Fastest competitor on the day was Steven McGuigan a solicitor from  Veale Wasbrough Vizards.

The first male team was Broad Quay Welsh Magic  made up of Colliers International offices and leisure park specialists James Preece, Richard Wright and Ben Jones.
