UK cancer charity chooses The Maltings to set down roots in Wales

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - UK cancer charity chooses The Maltings to set down roots in WalesA leading UK cancer charity has established its Wales headquarters at an iconic building in Cardiff.
Prostate Cancer UK, which helps men with prostate cancer and related diseases, has established its new Wales centre at The Maltings in Cardiff.

The Maltings is a privately-owned mix of serviced, owner managed and storage space contained in a grade II listed former 19th century malt house. The landmark historic building has emerged from a £3m investment and was recently recognised with a RICS award for building conservation.

Prostate Cancer UK, a UK wide charity, said The Maltings close proximity to Cardiff City centre and easy accessibility to other parts of the country made it a very appealing destination.

The Maltings Managing Director, Kathy Fox, said: “Prostate Cancer UK came to us with a specific requirement when looking to put down roots in Wales. The charity needed to be able to hit the ground running in terms of setting up their new operation here in Wales. We were pleased to be included within their consideration shortlist and delighted that our business centre was able to offer exactly what Prostate Cancer UK required.”

Mrs Fox said the flexibility of terms and the facilities available at The Maltings means that occupiers, such as Prostate Cancer UK, can move straight in and start working immediately. The variety of different sized office suites allows tenants to adjust their precise office space requirements as their business grows and develops.

Samantha Fairclough, Prostate Cancer UK Community Support Services Manager for Wales, who is based at the new office, said the serviced facilities at the East Tyndall Street location are ideal.
Ms Fairclough said: ““Prostate Cancer UK is new to Wales and we needed to be up and running as quickly as possible. We needed to be in the right location and with the right atmosphere to help us deliver the best possible service to men and their families in the area.

“At The Maltings visitors to the office are given a warm welcome and a very professional first impression of PCUK and all in a central location. The office has easy access links to the M4, the city and is accessible enough for our volunteers and supporters to pop in and say hi.  It has everything we were looking for in an office.”

Mrs Fox said the £3m investment at The Maltings had seen the creation of a range of suites within the landmark building transforming it into one of the most distinctive office locations in Wales’ capital city.
