wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Urban Splash an update from Paul JonesWe have been very busy at Urban Splash doing deals all over the country and attracting a wide range of tenants from one person start-ups to large multinational companies. We are now 90% let across our 2 million sq.ft portfolio and we have been particularly successful at our Royal William Yard scheme in Plymouth where we now have eight leisure operators trading on the estate which has created a fantastic buzz at the Yard. We are really excited to have signed up our first tenant at Park Hill in Sheffield where Human who are an amazing creative agency has chosen Park Hill to be their new home. We will have more exciting announcements about Park Hill commercial occupiers in the coming weeks.

In Manchester we are now 94% let where our portfolio continues to be popular with companies who want to locate to our schemes in Waulk Mill in Ancoats, Chips, New Islington, Ducie House in Piccadilly and The Schoolhouse which is close to MediaCity. We have completed a deal for the last available retail unit at the Smithfield building to Pieminister who have opened their first venture in Manchester. Pieminister joins a really interesting mix of tenants who have already chosen to locate their business at the Smithfield Building which is in the heart of the Northern Quarter.

In Liverpool we have attracted 6 new tenants in the past two months who have been attracted by the wide variety of design lead retail, office, leisure and industrial space we have to offer both in Liverpool City Centre and out of town. We are shortly to start work on refurbishing the first cottages which will be available to buy or let in our New Hall scheme in Fazakerley.

I think the key to our ability to attract such as fantastic diversity of tenants is the high quality design lead buildings in our portfolio coupled with our ability to offer competitive market deals on flexible lease terms. The amazing diversity of companies who already occupy our buildings has created a fantastic community spirit in all of our schemes which is a strong attraction for new tenants. Our simple lease structures also mean that we can complete deals quickly.
