Vail Williams latest to move into the Lakeside, heart of Portsmouth’s growing business park

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Vail Williams latest to move into the Lakeside, heart of Portsmouth’s growing business parkPortsmouth’s thriving 1000 Lakeside building gained another big name when commercial property consultants Vail Williams announced it will be re-locating there next summer.

Vail William will make the two-mile move from its existing base in Port Solent in June 2013; a short distance, but one that marks a long-term commitment from the firm’s Solent region to continue offering services from both ends of the M27 Corridor in Portsmouth and Southampton.

The new address will give Vail Williams the advantage of being in the centre of the flourishing Lakeside North Harbour business park with all its networking and deal-making opportunities.

Since its refurbishment, 1000 Lakeside has become established as a leading business destination, with 50 companies already filling three-quarters of the office floorspace.

Companies making their homes there include high profile names such as The Southern Co-operative, Capita, Coffin Mew, Hippowaste, Handelsbanken, Babcock and Regus. A new Porsche retail centre also opened recently at the business park.

Regional Partner Martin Tice said: “This move makes clear our commitment to the area and also to offering our clients the convenience of being able to visit our teams in both of Hampshire’s biggest cities.

“It will put our Portsmouth team right in the heart of the business activity there and reflects our ambition to expand in the Solent area, where we have recently taken on new staff and are delivering an even wider range of services.”

Vail Williams has played a key role in the transformation of the Lakeside North Harbour business park advising property fund manager Highcross on the acquisition of the site in 2005, providing planning advice for the now consented master plan for development of 1 million square feet of commercial space, rating advice and business space agency for the offices and hotel.

Nick Turner, asset management director at Highcross, added: “Vail Williams has been closely involved with the continuing success and development of the Lakeside North Harbour business park so we are delighted that they have decided to relocate their Portsmouth office here. This year, we have added exciting new facilities to the business park, including the recently opened retail hub and day nursery, and with plans now well underway for a new De Vere Village Resort hotel and opportunities for further bespoke office development, Lakeside North Harbour has further strengthened its position as a leading destination for South Coast businesses.”
