Wakemans welcomes new team members

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - Wakemans welcomes new team membersFive up and coming construction professionals have joined Wakemans, including a trainee graduate Quantity Surveyor, graduate Quantity Surveyors, a graduate building surveyor and a BREEAM assessor.

“We are committed to bringing in new talent and the continual professional development for all staff,” says associate director Steve Gascoyne.

“Demand for all of our services is increasing as the construction sector improves and we are dedicated to ensuring staff levels allow our clients to receive the personal service that they expect from Wakemans.

“The latest group is a great mix of trainee and graduate professionals, all of whom were chosen for their talent and enthusiasm for construction and the Wakemans’ brand.”

The trainee Quantity Surveyor, Thomas Haigh, will undertake a five year part time course beginning in 2014, which will equip him for a career in Quantity Surveying.  Thomas is a college graduate with high hopes for the course, “I’m currently working through my probation period in anticipation of beginning the path to qualification next year.  I’m looking forward to my new role and am proud to be associated with Wakemans,” Thomas enthuses.

Three graduate Surveyors will also be joining the team, Paul Baker, Luke Burns and Luke O’Brien. The graduates will work alongside senior Wakemans’ employees to gain a wide range of practical experience.  Luke Burns graduated from Coventry University, he said, “I’m currently completing the Assessment of Professional Competence and am also working towards membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – this opportunity with Wakemans feels like the culmination of all my hard work,” comments Luke.

New BREEAM Assessor, Gordon Wellings, comes from a position as an energy management consultant, and joins Wakemans to help strengthen their growing expertise in sustainability. “I am excited to be part of the Wakemans community,” Gordon commented.
