WSP first tenant at former Barclays Bank in Cardiff

wantspacegotspace.co.uk - WSP first tenant at former Barclays Bank in CardiffAberdeen Asset Management, represented jointly by Savills and Jones Lang LaSalle, has agreed the first letting at 40 Windsor Place, Cardiff to WSP.

The professional service firm for the built and natural environment has taken the second floor suite which totals 4,757 sq ft (442 sq m). Previously located at St Mellons, Cardiff

WSP has agreed a new 10-year lease on the space.

Formerly part of Barclays Bank, Queen Street the property has recently undergone a £1 million refurbishment program and has been rebranded 40 Windsor Place. The building

now comprises three floors of  high quality office accommodation extending to approximately 14,000 sq ft (1,300 sq m) with an impressive new entrance is located where the former cash points were. Not sure we need this bit Chris Pembridge, Location Director at WSP Cardiff, comments:

“This move to the Cardiff’s city centre demonstrates WSP’s commitment to the South Wales construction market.

The central location gives easy access to sustainable transport solutions and high speed data, both of which are essential for collaboration with our clients, partners and colleagues in the UK and internationally.”

Stuart Paterson, of Aberdeen Asset Management, adds: “This has been an exciting project for us - our aim was to deliver high quality offices in a prominent location and we are happy with the end product. The demand and feedback we have had is very encouraging.”

Gary Carver, director at Savills, comments further: “Aberdeen has delivered vastly improved offices. Despite the poor market conditions we are receiving excellent levels of interest in the offices, which is partly due to the lack of high quality offices in the city centre and we have a further three lettings in solicitors hands.”

Chris Terry of DTZ who acted for WSP adds: “My client was keen to acquire good quality city centre office accommodation and, following an extensive search in what remains a challenging Cardiff office market with ever reducing levels of grade A office accommodation, identified 40 Windsor Place as their preferred option.”
